What These Numbers Mean

We are a small organization, and every number above comes from work we do hands-on: collecting donations, sorting them with volunteers, and getting them to children and families facing resource insecurity. The toiletry kits, for example, are sorted by age, from infants to teenagers, so each one is actually useful to the person who receives it.

The L.I.V.E. Outreach has been doing this work since 2014, when Malika Williams founded the organization after growing up in foster care herself. What started as one person mentoring at girls' facilities has grown into a network of more than 10 mentors and volunteers serving Detroit and the surrounding Metro Detroit area.

Donations fund things you can picture: new underwear and socks for the garage sale, high-demand book titles, supplies and snacks for Saturday Learning Sessions, and the renovation of our Mobile Mentoring Hub. We are a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit, EIN 47-1380679, and we hold a Candid Seal of Transparency.

These numbers grow when people show up. If you want to be part of the next ones, donate, volunteer, or run a collection drive at your workplace, school, or community group. Email info@theliveoutreach.org to get started.
