Volunteers
The L.I.V.E. Outreach is actively seeking both short-term and long-term support from volunteers who are passionate about youth and community development. We are looking for individuals to assist with creating and facilitating workshops for youth, joining our fundraising committee, or serving on our board of directors.
We also welcome hands-on volunteers to support donation drives, community events, and the sorting and distribution of essential supplies. No prior experience is required, as training will be provided, and volunteer roles can be matched to individual skills, interests, and availability.
Most volunteer opportunities are based in the Metro Detroit area, and we are committed to making engagement flexible and accessible for all who want to contribute.

Students
Sometimes a young person does not want to talk to an adult about what is going on. They want a peer. If you are a teen who likes to volunteer and would be willing to share your story with other young people, we want to hear from you. Student volunteers earn community service hours and get real-world experience while making a difference for their peers.

Educators
Education happens outside the classroom too. If you are a teacher, counselor, school administrator, or just someone with a skill to share, we can put that to use. We work with educators to identify students who need support and connect families with resources in the Detroit area.

What We Need
Our programs are powered by volunteers and community support. The toiletries, books, and clothing we distribute are donated by individuals who believe in our mission. Our mentors show up for Saturday Learning Sessions and the Mobile Mentoring Hub because they genuinely care, and that is what keeps this organization moving forward.
Right now, we are in need of support in several areas, including administrative support, community engagement, and help with collecting and organizing donated items, spreading awareness about the organization, and supporting events. We are also looking for dedicated mentors for our Saturday Learning Sessions and Mobile Mentoring Hub, as well as donations of toiletries, books, and gently used clothing, and financial contributions to help sustain and grow our programs.
Additionally, we are seeking support with fundraising efforts for the Mobile Mentoring Hub renovations to help expand our reach and impact.
We welcome active parents, neighbors, community members, and organizations that are aligned and want to make a direct impact.
You can also support our work by purchasing "I'm Just Trying to L.I.V.E." by Malika Williams on Amazon.
